Well, if you want to make an impression that she'll never forget, if this is the biggest most important question you've ever asked, if it is something between total devastation and heartbreak and total exuberance and joy - then yes proposing on one knee is quite appropriate. If you want to create a memory that she will never forget - if this is someone you feel you can't live without - way to go!

If you're taking this non chalant like oh well if she does and oh well if she doesn't - don't get on one knee and don't bother asking! If it's not a big deal because you know you can get divorced if it doesn't work out - then don't bother with the one knee - just forget you thought about marriage in the first place.

Remember, if you think the proposal is difficult - you've only tasted .5% of the difficulties that marriage presents over the long term!

Getting on one knee is like a sign that you're putting your heart in her hands - with total trust and admiration.

Well if you are planning on proposing to her that must mean you know her very well. Is she an old-fashioned kind of girl? To me, proposing on one knee would be the right thing bc i am old fashioned and thats how its usually done. I dont see why u wouldnt get on one knee but if she really loves you she wont care how you propose as long as u do it sincerely. good luck!!

It depends on your style and hers. And how you intend to set up the proposal. My husband proposed on the scoreboard at a ball game, so the one knee thing wasn't practical but it didn't take away from the moment or stop me from saying yes. In the end, what matters is that you ask and she says yes.

Well, it doesn't really make a difference. If you want a unique proposal, do it in a different way.. Bending on one kneee is too common and some women don't agree with that.. so, if you propose, you can do it with flowers.. or do it while watching the sunset holding hands.. what do you say?
