For my anniversary my wife and I are going to Nashville. I would like some suggestions for some fun activities in or around the city. We are going the weekend of October 28-31. Thanks for the help.

Make sure you take her to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel....at NIGHT! Its amazing at night, and you don't have to be staying there to go inside.

I don't know if you know about the hotel, but there are 3 different HUGE rooms that are full of gardens and walkways, and its one of the coolest sights you have ever seen. Here are some pictures...

Seriously, those pictures don't do it justice. Make sure you go there some night and just walk around. It's amazing. There is a water fountain show in the "Delta" room every night at 6:30 and 9:30, which is also pretty cool. You can also check out the Opry Mills mall which is right across the street.

If you want to see if there are any activities going on at the hotel for the days you are here, you can check out www.gaylordopryland.com

There's also Centennial Park, which has a full replica of the Parthaenon. More info here: http://www.nashville.gov/parthenon/

Broadway, there are lots of country bars where really talented artists play for tips because there are just so many talented people in the town. Tootsie's the best and most famous, but pretty small. Opryland Hotel is very cool, as is the Grand Old Opry - don't know if they have shows that weekend but I bet they do. Also the Country Music Hall of Fame is huge, and really interesting. I know this is all about country music but that's what Nashville is all about. Those are the things I did when I went a couple years ago and I had a great time and don't even like country all that much!

Visit the Opryland Hotel and the huge mall next to it (OpryMills) You also want to head downtown to see some of Nashville's local flavor. Take a night time ride to the Acropolis. Take a day trip to Memphis to visit Graceland. Ride the General Jackson. Visit one of the many older homes on tour. Go to Lynchburg and visit Jack Daniels, Go to a Titans game. Eat...Eat....Eat
