No on the coke and pineapple. Though they do say moderation on the caffeine. I drank Starbucks everyday........moderation.
As far as the patch, my dr told me it was better then smoking, I opted for the lowest dose nicotine gum. Felt that way I at least had a little more control over it. So, you're best bet is discussing it with your dr.

Coke and pineapple: no, will not cause a miscarriage (though caffeine consumption in large amounts is associated with a higher risk of miscarriage).
Nicotine patches: You should speak with your doctor about making a plan for quitting smoking. The patch will be safer for you and the fetus than smoking, but it is far preferable that you stop all nicotine completely. Again, speak with your doctor.

Ok, I'm sure I ws told not to use patches. I asked my doctor, I think you best do the same. And coke is alright but not in large amounts (same with all drinks containing caffeine), and the list I've got of food to avoid during pregnancy has pineapple on it so I wont be eating, but its one of those things that seems to vary where ever you are!

I have heard that the patches are safer than smoking because they don't have all the tar and other garbage added to them, but it is always best to check with your doctor. My mom smoked with all 4 of us kids and even though she cut down we all have ADD and one of my sisters has severe Asthma, and even at age 42 she still has attacks that send her to the ER. It is not true about the coke and pineapple. You should cut down on caffine, but a couple of cokes are not going to hurt anything. Your husband will just have to deal with your mood swings. You didn't get pregnant by yourself, but you are the one that has a growing baby inside you that is making you sick, and tired...not him! When you have the urge to have a smoke grab his hand and squeeze..or another body part...lol

these patches, as you know, contain chemicals which slowly release into the body as they are absorbed through the skin. Your fetus IS absorbing these chemicals too since it is in YOUR body sharing what you do. So; hope you talk to your MD about this. Hope you have a healthy - happy baby.
