Son stoled my sisters car and has told friends that he was going to Kansas City and took another friend with him. He also took my cell phone. I've called the police, went to his friends houses, combed the small town where we live and turned the car in stolen. Is there anything else I can do? Or do I just sit, worry, and wait?

Report the sister's car stolen and report your cell phone stolen to the cell phone company so you can get a new phone and the other one will be shut off.
When the car is spotted by the police, who ever is driving will be brought in and you will be called about the car being recovered.
There is not anything more you can do because your son CHOSE to run away. He will come back when he runs out of money and food and realizes he was stupid to run away. When he comes home bring him to a psychiatrist asap and punish him severely.
Also call the Kansas City police and let them know to be on the look out for your sister's car because you were told he was headed there.

sit worry and wait also might want to try the cell phone from a phone booth so its not recognized as a normal # in your phone then just tell him bring back the phone, car, and friend and he can go off where everthen hang up with out him getting in a word, also dont yell or sound worried sick he will think well i didnt get the reaction i was expecting and probably come home thats when you turn his *** into the cops for a hard learned lesson.

There is nothing else you can do but pray. I know all types of bad things that can happen is going thru your mind. But no news is good news. You reported it to the police & when they find him he will be charged with Grand Theft of an Auto. Hopefully this will be his wake-up call. He has to learn and understand that you will not tolerate this type of behavior. If he is under 18yrs they may also place him under P.I.N.S.(person in need of supervision). They will have a P.O. or somebody monitor him 2 make sure things like this will not happen again. When he returns take away all privelages, and ground him. He'll think twice about doing this again.
I will pray that he returns home safe&sound.

Most cell phones have a gps built in. There are ways the police can trace the location of the phone if the phone is kept active, so don't cut it off until you ask the police about that.

Good luck hopefully some time will cool things down a bit.

If you have called the police, and I know that's a hard thing to do - call the cops on your own kid, but I've done it a few times so far... If they know he stole the car, that takes any liability off your sister, though it doesn't help her with transportation ...Let the police find him, you could be putting yourself in danger. Have the cell phone shut off. Don't sit and worry -I know that's easy for me to say - but put it in God's hands. I wish you well.

everything you've done sounds within the realm of what to do besides hire a P.I. but that's pricey. Perhaps call your local tv news and have them do a story, maybe they can find something you can't. And maybe call the police in the area of where you heard he was going? and keep up with the parents of the friend that went with him because a combined effort is best. Good Luck.

I would sure be praying that he does no harm to himself, the friend with him or anyone else..............there is not a lot you can do, I know it is a terrible worry to you, good luck and so sorry you are having this type problem, if you can call on the cell phone and try to talk some sense into him is all I can think of......

I think after 24 hrs you can report them missing to the police. Then call the national center for missing and exploited children to see if they can help you. Call all family and friends in case he turns up looking for money or something. How terrible for you. I hope he comes home soon. Good Luck

sit worry and wait until you get that phone call from the police unless you have any leads on him were he possibly could be.They may of ran out of petrol also and started walking and could be in trouble, but try ringing the cell phone if you can get any response.

As a former runaway you have done everything you can to address what he has done. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is worry and wait. Also use tough love have his *** arrested to learn a valuable lesson
