Nothing legally can be done to stop him. If all owners decided not to talk to mr. Boras that would be collusion. Only a hard salary cap both team and individual can limit the damage he can inflict. This is because teams will have a make or break limit for salaries and won't want to waste large amounts on one player, plus if there is a maximum salary then he cannot ask for more. Don't count on any of this happening.

As long as the best players, like Johnny F. Damon, Jered Weaver, Jason Varitek, just to name a couple, believe that he can deliver the goods from baseball teams, Scott Boras will be a highly sought after agent. As it was said in the movie, 'Show me the money.' Ball players don't hire agents for anything else.
