If I kill, commit suicide, and am murdered a couple times every night in my dreams, should I seek a psychologist? I am generally a content person, so I don't understand.

Think about what there might be in your daily life that you would attempting to kill, or, like to 'do away with'. Is it possible that some-THING in your daily life is being murdered, or coming to an end. Something that will no longer exist? Could it be a job or sabotage of a friendship? Possible cutting off connections with family. You can interpret your dream. (In my opinion). Maybe your subconscious is attempting to explain something to you. This may be a way for your subconscious mind to reach you, and help you understand a situation going on in your daily life. Many books have been written on dream interpretation. I hope you find the answer you are looking for, and may you have many a blessed nights sleep. Sweet Dreams Dear. Gypsy

Kill someone = anger
Commit suicide = give up

If you continue to have these nightmares for long period of time, stop watching horror movies. Perhaps a shrink will help. However, it all depends on your life. If you are a content person and have no anger and easy going. That dream probably means there is something hidden in your subconscious mind. You have to explore it in the dream because you have deep anger or resentment and you just don't know it in reality.

Yes, I suggest you go see a shrink to get better understanding. But if you love watching horror movies, that is merely a play back of what you experience in day time.

To get rid of those nightmares. I suggest two methods.

1. Be happy all the times, watch comedies instead of horror movies.
2. Few minutes before you go to sleep, tell yourself you will have a nightmare. (That is a suppressio of your subconscious mind), then you will not have those nightmares.
3. If you believe in God, pray.

Killing

To dream that you kill someone, indicates that heavy stress may cause you to lose your temper and self-control. Consider the person you have killed and ask yourself if you feel any rage towards him or her in your waking life. You may very well be expressing some anger or hatred toward this person. Alternatively, you may be trying to kill or put an end to an aspect of yourself that is represented by the person killed. Identify the characteristics of this person and ask yourself how you do not want to be like him or her.

To dream that you have been killed, suggests that your actions are disconnected from your emotions. Alternatively, it refers to drastic changes that are happening in your life.

This dream may also represent a part of you or your life that you wish would leave you alone and stop creating a nuisance. Killing may represent the killing off of old parts of yourself and old habits

Murder

To dream that you have committed a murder, indicates that you are putting an end to an old habit and your former ways of thinking. This could also mean an end to an addiction. Alternatively, you may have some repressed aggression or rage at yourself or at others.

To dream that you witness a murder, indicates deep-seated anger towards somebody. Consider how the victim represents aspects of yourself that you want to destroy or eliminate.

To dream that you are murdered, suggests that some important and significant relationship has been severed and you are trying to disconnect yourself from your emotions. It also represents your unused talents.

Note also that dreams of murder occur frequently during periods of depression.

Suicide

To dream that you commit suicide, denotes that conditions in your life is so frustrating that you are no longer willing to cope with a situation or relationship in the same way as you did in the past. Alternatively, you may be unable to overcome feelings of guilt and thus turning the aggression on yourself. On a more positive note, it may suggest that you are saying good-bye to one aspect of yourself or character that your have been carrying around.

To see someone commit suicide in you dream, highlights your concerns for that person. Also consider what characteristics and qualities in that person you may be trying to "kill" and annihilate in your own self. Perhaps you hope that you are not like that person in some way and are making attempts to get rid of those traits within your own self.

Sounds to me that there is something in you, being a feeling, bad habit, or something negative in your life that you want to get rid of.

Maybe even something that you are not aware of, like in your subconscious.

Also think of what happened around the time that you started having these dreams. Maybe that will trigger a memory. and you can focus on that, if you can pinpoint it.

Depending on how long you have been having these dreams, maybe a shrink isn't a bad option. It doesn't mean that you are crazy it just means you have issues to deal with that you are unable to deal with yourself.

I would propose PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These sort of 'non-sequitir' nightmare edisodes are very prominent in those returning from overseas. If you are a veteran, and this is the case, I recommend you get help.

Pray for protection. I agree Pray before bedtime. Everynight, just
ask God to help you make these bad dreams go away. Your
sub-concious will get the message.

no, you don't need to see a psychologist! just try and not eat for at least 2-3 hours before bedtime, because that usually brings these types of dreams
