My husband's work messed up on our insurance so I do not have any. He makes too much for me to get medicaid which was a last resort. I have called planned parenthood and they don't really seem to know anything. I have called the doctors in the area and they either laughed at me or just hung up. Well, one was nice and just said we don't take patients without insurance. But anyway, I was wondering if anyone may know of any other resources.

I just saw a news piece on a couple who had ur exact problem...unfortunately they had to mortgage their home to pay the baby bills! This is so unfair. Make sure there is nothing u can do about getting bk ur insurance if losing it wasnt ur fault. Some lawyers give free consultations..they hear u out n then let u know if they can help u. Try getting info from a public health center and WIC (women, Infant and children) These places dont offer ins. but they r concerned with ur health n might b able to help. Sometimes going in person helps..they r less likely to brush u off. Use books from ur public library to stay informed on what u should b eating n feeling at each stage, until u see someone.
Best of luck..my prayers r with u.

Check and see if there is a Pregnancy Resource Center in your area. They should be able to help you. There should be some doctor in your area you can go to. OB/GYN's do not bill until after the baby is born (This is nation-wide) Tell them that you can make payments. Prenatal care is extremely important and a good OB is not going to deny you treatment.

Check with your county hospital.

If you're in D/FW, Dallas is Parkland Hospital, Fort Worth is John Peter Smith Hospital.

Also, ask your local Women's Center and United Way for referrals.

Churches usually know where to find resources. Or ask at the offices where you would apply for Medicaid.
