Why do people go through abortion?

It is a difficult decision for more women or girls to make. Ignorant people tend to think that its just a decision that irresponsible women make on a whim, but it takes a lot of guts to make such a personal decision and to go through with something like that. Many women and girls in our culture do not have enough knowledge of contraceptive use, and they end up pregnant- in situations where they are completely unable to care for a child. Maybe they were raped, or maybe it was just an accident. Either way, making a choice whether to have the baby or not can depend on a LOT of factors. What is their home life like? Where are they at in their lives? Do they have money, food, clothing, shelter, a loving a supportive family? Or are they poor, hungry, broke, homeless, or abandoned? Many of the world's most unhappy abused neglected children come from a mother who was not ready to have a child but got pregnant and had no choice. There needs to be choice.

Most women that go through an abortion are deciding to put the needs of their own life and their own future above the consequences of circumstance. Kids aren't educated enough about contraception.

They go through an abortion because they are selfish,ashamed,and stupid! I just dont understand why they just cant give up the baby for adoption. It doesnt matter if it was because of rape,incest or lack of money, its not the babies fault.

I think they are between a rock and a hard place,and don't know which way to go.. And they make the choice that they feel is best for them, with out giving alot of thought to the after affects on their lives.I think most, later regret their decision.

i wished i knew. i really hate to hear of girls getting abortions just because they dont want to get fat. i can tolerate the idea of abortions if women were getting them because of something life or death or because they were raped. but thats a question i dont ever think we'll get a straight answer to!
