I have an old computer that worked fine. I want to give it a factory restory (destructive) but I cant find the disks.

It is a Gateway, with WIndows ME...what can I do without the disks? Is there any other way around it?

just contact gateway and ask them to send you a factory restore CD. you might need to have your computer model and serial number ready at hand. if they dont send you, ask around your friends for one. if they don't have it either, then take your computer to a computer repair shop. if you dont want to do that either, then you do have an option to purchase a new windows CD from microsoft, and delete everything on your harddrive and installing the new windows on your computer - without any additional software that you might have gotten when you purchased the gateway. you would have windows media player, solitaire, and internet explorer...hope this helps, contact for more information.

try a fix -it program(I got fix-it utilities#5) from target about 2 years ago and even though its probably outdated by now its saved my butt numerous times,it can even help you breakdown the unwanted programs on the computer while saving the ones you want if that old computer is still functioning
