The Universe as we all know is the space and it belongs to no one person or no Country.
Nature or God created the Universe, as many believe. It is for the inhabitants of the whole world to enjoy.
Every nation on Earth has the right to the space, people believe, not so, George Bush in his usual bullying self has proclaimed Space as the sole property of the USA and no other shall have any right to it.
Which Country or its people can argue with him without fear of being bombed.
Does this mean the USA can lay claim to anything at all, are they trying to take over the whole of the Universe including the Earth.
There must be some people who read this, who have some views on it. It will be interesting to see what you write.

First of all, don't place blame on all of America for the ramblings of a noted alcoholic and presumably a drug addict. I have no desire to conquer space. There's nothing there anyway. George probably just got done drinking a bottle of Scotch and watching Star Wars. He has tried to divert attention from his failings anytime someone poses a direct question that he cannot answer, which happens often.

when did GW claim ownership of the universe? that's asinine. how can someone claim that which cannot be seen or comprehended? that's like trying to claim stakes on Europa. if it's enforceable, then all the power to him, i guess.
and what if the universe and everything in it is solely within the mind of The All? that would include GW and his cabinet and the administration and South Korea's nuclear ability and your computer and this message that i'm typing out right now. it would include the vastness of space and the many star systems and galaxies and all that is known and unknown about those things. what if this existence is nothing but the imagined electrical impulses of the inconceivable? what if tomorrow, everything is wiped and eradicated like a formatted hard disk drive? GW and the USA and China and South Korea and Iraq and Iran and Afghanistan and Russia and England... do they matter? should we really be concerned with the pettiness that is created within the stretch of our own minds? our dreams, our fears, our realities? what right do our governments have on those things? this isn't Orwell's 1984 where you're arrested for thought-crime. that'll be 25-50 years from now when the government can access the recesses of your brain and they'll be able to program your every function... your destiny. and if The All isn't interested in this, it'll be changed. "nature will always find a way."

Why do people even listen to that man? He probably won't remember any of this tomorrow. But the US is notorious for thinking that it controls everything anyway, so why is a suprise that "W" wants the universe too? this sounds like something a kid would say. "The universe is mine and you can't have it!" What is he, three years old? Grow up!

Space is beyond the commerce of men. Thus, nobody can claim ownership over the universe under any law.

First of all, the earth is part of the Universe yet people claim and recognize ownership of parts of it. I own the land I live on until somebody bigger and stronger than me comes to take it away from me. That's the laws of nature, get used to it.

Don't you mean:
In the greatest move of imperialism since, ever, George Bush in his usual bullying self....
I think he must have watched too much Star Trek and took that whole Final Frontier stuff a bit too serious.
