Swimming is probably the best overall. High calorie burn potential. Uses all the body's muscle groups. Low impact. But expensive, and difficult to maintain as it can be very boring to perform for long periods. Walking is therefore more practical. Particularly if you have a "book on tape" downloaded to your Ipod and therefore get the benefit of reading as your walk briskly. The interest is peaked, and the time flies by. You have accomplished your cardiovascular workout (heart rate maintained for 20 minutes at a level equal to 220-your age times 80%) What more could you ask for... And it is cheap as hell.

Well, assuming that the average person is exercising to be in good health, rather than building muscle or training for a specific activity, the best exercise would be "AEROBIC" exercises: Heavy and rhythmic movement that provokes agitated breathing.

This Aerobic could be Jogging, walking, or bicycling. Swimming is also a good aerobic exercise, which also involves the movement of some other rather passive muscles in the back and arms.

It is said that an aerobic exercise must be performed heavily for at least 20minutes to be of benefit to your health.

on a similar time as golf could be seen a chilled interest, this is no longer oftentimes commonplace as an extreme form of workout. in fact, some human beings do no longer even think of of golfers as athletes. this could have something to do with the actual demands of different activities. for sure, golf is performed at a plenty slower %. and with much less consistent flow. yet there are nevertheless some obvious, and probably no longer so obvious, workout advantages to swinging a club and chasing that ball around 18 holes of a golf course.

as much physical activity as reasonably possible. i am a 41 yr old male, and i am a housepainter. i've never had any trouble as far as exercise, my work provides all the different constant physical effort needed to keep me in shape. if your employment does not allow you the chance to exercise your body, then i would suggest a physical trainer. if you want something easy, start walking. every day, every opportunity. walk instead of drive, or at least ride a bike.

...Too general. Depends on your diet, lifestyle, health, age, etc etc. However, whatever your doctor recommends, for an 'average' person, 30 min of cardio every day is excellent for the heart-a jog or walk. Weight training (women, light) 2-3 times a week. Consult your doctor first.

well that all depends on how fit you are. some great things are simply walking, wich tightens your stomache muscles and strengthens your legs, increases your lung capacity ect..then there's jogging, wich is imo the best excersize you can get. if you live in an area with alot of stairs eventually jog the stairs, make sure to move your arms, and don't fall down, drink lots of water, and take breaks when needed, also make sure to do a "cool down" this is when your way out of breath and ready to quit, don't just sit down, slowly jog, then walk, then stand, then your done, doing this is easier on the body.
