How could the industrial revolution's INCREASE OF THE STANDARD OF LIVING contribute to UNHAPPINESS amongst people of HIGHER INCOME CLASSES?

ive already written how it makes ppl of lower income classes unhappy, but what about more wealthy, upper middle class ppl?

Basically, it didn't make rich people unhappy. The Industrial Revolution made rich people enormously wealthy, increased their leisure time (while decreasing the leisure of the poor), gave them better access to transportation and communication and cheap goods. The only arguable downside for the rich was that it was around this time that workers started unionizing heavily. When all the workers were in one factory, they were more likely to unite, and strike for better working conditions. Thus the birth of "organized labor".

Actually, the leisure class has disappeared because of the industrial revolution..now time is money...and productivity out-wins leisure time--any day. It is sad, actually. That even people with money can't enjoy it for fear or guilt of not working all the time.
