Obama…

I think he will be one of the political stars at the federal level in time, but I do not think he is Presidential material either. I don’t think he has enough experience in federal politics to be the “project manager” of the country yet.

Obama has about one term as a State Senator during the time where reams of corruption charges were brought against people in the state government. Also during this time, the Illinois budget had huge deficits.

After about a term as a State Senator, he was elected as a US Senator. He has managed to get a single-law passed, the “Google for Government” law. It is not a bad piece of legislation, but it isn’t something that is going to change our lives for the better. So far, Obama has acted like a newbie in Washington, probably because he is.

After another 6 year term as a Senator, he may very well get my vote. As of now, he doesn’t have an overly impressive resume. He did go to Harvard, which is nice for name recognition, but at the end of the day, doesn’t make him a good President. Prior to being a Senator, he did work in areas that really did help people. This helps, but it doesn’t change the fact he is new to federal politics.

The only thing I have against him is his lack of experience (for the same reasons, I’d never vote for Hillary). I think he’d be better than the President we currently have though.

I think that Barack Obama would make a fine president. He is relatively new to washington, so he doesn't seem to have been corrupted yet. He comes from the "real" America, raised by a single mom, worked his way up, even experimented with drugs and decided that's not the life he wanted. He understands the struggle that people face, and he should be an inspiration to all Americans.
As far as Oprah goes... She sometimes gets a little to sure of her popularity, and tries to use her influence to get people to act without thinking, based on her word. She too, overcame a lot though, and I admire her for that.
I would be interested in knowing why you think that Barack Obama is not presidential material.

I think that if Oprah wants Obama to be president she should buy it for him. If she offered everyone who votes for him tickets to her "favorite things" show, he would be a shoe in. She could even have him be a favorite thing.
