Hmmm that's a bit tough. I'd say at least one of the most depressing movie endings would be to Requiem for a Dream. Everyone at the end of the movie is at their lowest without any glimmer of hope.

I can't think of the title of it, but it's that one with Tom Hanks as a Fed Ex guy that gets stranded on an island. Towards the end of the movie, he gets to come home and his whole life has changed, his girlfriend got married, ect. He goes out to deliver the last package and gets directions from a woman in a pick-up truck. He stands there at the cross-roads, and the credits roll. WTF? Did he get his life back together? Did he decide to go back to the island and his volleyball-headed friend Wilson? Did he jump off the Golden Gate Bridge? What? That's it?????

Million Dollar Baby:
Depressing (if you've seen it you know what happens to Maggie, geesh...), unresolved (Dunn just disappears?), definitely over-rated. How was this a best picture winner?

Pretty Woman is my favorite movie of all time, but they really could have made a better ending. He climbs up her nasty old fire escape in his suit with roses and asks her what happens next...after the knight rescues her, while she's in his arms....and they have her say "she rescues him right back"....how freakin retarded. Come on, they can't just leave you hangin like that...did they get hitched...did he set her up in the penthouse....did she get her degree and join him in business ???

Sling Blade. At the end, he returned to where he started, and even though, he showed that he did, what he did, because, he felt that he was 'protecting' someone else's life, it was he, that would suffer.

the purple rose of cairo.
the ending's not depressing, but it was an open ended movie, so that kind of pissed me off.
the credits just started coming in.
