Just so you know they do have class, in case you didnt see when Suppon was taken out, at least half the fans in the stands gave him a standing ovation (sp?). If thats not class i dont know what is....well except for those rooms you go to in school.

candi, the NY media does thatbecause when you play for any NY team in any sport you're expected to be the best all the time, thats why it's considered the hardest city to play for

Excellent question. I agree with u. I just don't think the other answerers have grasp the idea of what being a fan is all about. Those fans in St. Louis were also booing the Mets players (ha! talkin' 'bout some class!). And yeah, NY is the toughest city when it comes to the players (any sports). It's not just the media (I think people don't realize that NY is called the media capital of the world), the NY fans also expect the best out of their players. People who hate NY for no apparent reason (maybe 'cause NY teams get the attention all the time hahaha.....sucks for them) are pathetic.

I never say that; however fans cheer and booed for different reasons and if they see a guy give it all he gots then most fans cheer no matter what... but if you did a mistake or sign a contract to a rival and called it the best move of your career then they is no way you can get cheer, refering to Kent signing to the Dodgers and dissing the Giants.....

I agree with you ~ that was classy.
I have called them the "stupid Mets" for a while this season,
but I think their fans tonight showed real class.
I only really hate Pedro Martinez. The rest don't bother me.

yeah but how come your media bashes your players? It does not make sense if you were the best fans you would not allow your sports writers bash your players.
