Some people can get by with six or seven hours a day of sleep.

But many of us need eight. The body is busy while we are sleeping! Certain special, delicate tissues are only repaired and replaced while we sleep. The inside of the chambers of the heart has a slippery lining thath gives off electric shocks, like the skin of an electric eel. The heart regulates itself with this electrical inner lining, and only when we are resting, asleep and ou hearts beating slowly does it get repaired.

the cornea of the eye needs this rest and repair period, too. So do the tendons, joints, nerves and muscles. We would all age faster and be in pain without enough restful sleep.

We dont all need this. This is the national avg. I do heavy construction and landscaping work, which can be extremely tireing, but I avgerage only about 6 hours alseep per night, and I also go to school full time. Others however, could need even up to 10 hours of sleep. Our bodies work differently and there is no excuse in that.

ok, it depends on the age of the person. babies need like 10 hours a day, while teenagers need 7 or 8. and some adults can even do 6 or 5!!!

it depends how long u plan to sleep. lkie if ur going to bed at 2 am and waking up at like 6, ur gonna be exhausted. if ur going to bed at 2 am but ur waking up at lkie 9 am (7 hours of sleep) thats ok.

the number of hours really depend on u. but seriously, i am thankful to have even 8 hours of sleep a night. lol. sleep rules!!! <-- me being lazy.

scientist say 8, because the adult brain functions on the highest level while under 8 hours of sleep, no more, no less, More=fatigue, ironically, Less=less able to concentrate and function. and so forth for both.
