I've been watching the various Congressional debates aired on C-SPAN lately, and have noticed a few States have third party candidates running for election. After hearing everyone, myself included, complain how Washington is in need of a shakedown, I was curious if anyone was seriously considering mixing things up.

Only if there was a chance they could win. Otherwise I think it is a wasted vote, and then I vote Republican.

It is tempting, but the results are that the third party candidate always ends up taking votes away from one of the candidates, while not winning himself, thus throwing the election to the ultimate winner. Today, the consequences are far too high to lose, just to make a protest against the system. Go vote and throw the bums out.

Yes, as a protest. I am far beyond the naiive position of thinking my vote actually counts, at least until the electorate is gone, so what remedy in justice or by vritue of protest do I have left open to me? Am I an Independant? No. Do I have an alternative vote, that will actually mean something? No. So, INdependant it may be, sadly, to negate a vote I want to be sidelined.\

Jeesh, have we really come to this?

Yes... I would. I vote on the basis of the individual rather then on an affiliation to a party.

Not for Congress this year. I love my Senator, she's done a lot for my city. However, I will be voting Independent for Governor.
