we're all emotional, some more than others. But some men are better at hiding their emotions.

Men most certainly do have emotions. However men have been conditioned to never show emotion because this is a sign of "weakness" and if a man is weak then his worth as a human being is lowered. Therefore men strive with all possible effort to be strong and cappable because the opposite is unthinkable, unmentionable.

Exemplia Gratia, If man A is part of the military and in a moment of stress he breaks down, then his unit is leaderless and will probably be killed. The penalty for weakness (failure) is death.

If man B is an executive and in making a high stress deal he lets slip his true intentions, the deal fails and his business might stumble or even collapse. The penalty for weakness (failure) is poverty and eternal shame.

Then man C is a football coach and he shows his tender side inadvertantly to a wounded member. The team sees his weak spot and then all begin to feign wounds when the training gets too tough. The penalty for weakness (failure) is the collapse of what he hold's dear. Although these are extreme examples, these are what men fear when they show emotion and every emotion shown must have either a reason or an excuse before it could be shown.
Note: this has let up in recent years but it still remains in modern culture.

Not all of them are emotional. Remember the meaning of individual differences? No two idividuals are exactly the same. From the emotional point of view, I would say that there are more men who are not emotional rather than those who are. In fact, because of their emotional strength, they are able to hide their emotions at times. They don't easily cry. Very few men do.

So, if you happen to know a man who is not emotional, he belongs to the general group and there's nothing wrong with that.

No. Everyone is different. You have some guys who like playing the tough role and others who are very sensitive. It just depends on the type of indiviual who you are dealing with. I use to think that guys were not emotional either. But now I have found out they can be. You just have to bring the sensitive side of which can be tough sometimes.

No. some are too emotional, and u wonder if they're guys. But it's because of stereotypes that guys can't be vunerable in any way. Girls have it pretty easy when it comes to being "us" but guys can't do that w/o scruitiny for changing just a bit. If a guy cries, he's called a pussy; but if a girl yells at a guy, she's called assertive. But then, sometimes a guy is called sensitive when he cries, and a girl's called a ***** when she speaks her mind. It's all the way u look at it. And most guys are supposed to live up to the John Wayne, or Johnny Cash fallicy...and it isn't fair. I do feel bad for them in that reguard.

HAH! Most guys are way more emotional than you could ever imagine.
They get upset, throw tantrums, get testosterone poisoning and can't think straight for days. They break up with someone, get fired from a job, get in a car wreck, and they're completely non compos mentis. They don't necessarily scream and cry, at least not in front of anyone, but you won't be able to talk to them about anything, they won't hear you.

my loving wife's first husband did not show any emotions, and would not even say i love you, when she met me she said i was a breathe of fresh air and so different then any man she had ever known for most men its hard to show their emotional side because they were taught the old rule that men don't show their feelings and thoughts. the younger generation are growing up in a society where men are expect to show their emotions and feelings. but until the old teaching die, its a gradual process

As a father of 4 I am very emotional. I may not show it a lot but its there. A lot of my keeping things in I believe I do is to keep the family positive and not worried about things. I certainly feel love, hapiness, as well as sadness, dissapointment and so on. I thinks most guys do but keep it in so as to stay "Macho". I admit I havent cried in years since my father passed, and even then was the first time my then 4 year wife had seen me cry. Guys take things in stride, keep them inside and try to resolve them alone. Its our nature.

Some are, some are not.

I am the perfect balance. I am fine showing emotion, but I don't cry during chick flicks.

I am comfortable enough with myself to express myself, but I don't believe I have to show every emotion every single time the wind blows.

Everything in life is balance...

Peace!
