I mean if someone knows that if he knocks on the door, he won't get a response, then why would he do that in the beginning. Because he does that, that means that the person whose door he knocks at let him think that it's okay to knock on his door late at night and so if it's okay, then why won't that person open the door or respond?

It's like you won't go and knock at someone else's door late at night unless you think it's okay or you think the person won't mind because that person lets you think that it's okay. So, if that person lets you think that it's okay, then why won't that person open the door??

I probibly wouldn't open the door if someone knocked after midnight. I live in a safe neighborhood but you never know who is at the door.

Are you why would someone knock?
Or why would someone not answer?
Well, for the 1st one, because it's an emergency or they are just being a pita
For the 2nd, because they are asleep or do not want to be bothered by the person knocking.

why would the person knock or why wouldn't the person open? the person probably knocked because they were drunk, the person probably didn't open because its late and either they are asleep or maybe they think its someone creepy at the door.

i had that problem. it turned out the person knocking on my door was the girlfriend of the guy who was stalking me. he had her knock on the door to try and get into my house. i don't even wanna think about what he would've done if i had let them in.

maybe the person knocked on the door was a friennd that forgot something or maybe that its a muderrer so its good not to answer the door
