I believe they are wise if they want their children brought up in the Japanese culture - not so wise if it's just because they think the Japanese system of education is superior.

Japanese students spend 240 days a year at school, 60 days more then their American counterparts. They are often more advanced than Americans in science and mathematics and may have a larger store of knowledge, but they do not learn to think as well because they learn so much by rote.

About 15 or 20 years ago, a Japanese automobile manufacturer was preparing to establish schools for Japanese youngsters in America. I believe the reason there are not any around now (as far as I could find out on the Internet) is that the Japanese found out they didn't really have to keep many Japanese in the United States to run their plants. The Americans did just fine!

I've heard a lot of people become smarter just by speaking and using the Japanese language itself. For instance, to say 54 I think the literal translation is 50 plus four.

i wouldnt say they are wise just by sending their kids back to their country to study. they sent them back to study because they don't want them to forget about their roots. that has to be the sole reason to that.

i dont kno if there is any turth to that because i kno a lot of japenese people and there kids go to my school, and most of them goin to go to the college i am goin to. personally i would never go back to pakistan to complete my studies...
