Scan in image search engines for "fractals". Use brilliant, colorful fractal images to help convey the concepts of abnormal behavior. Here are the major human responses to distress and disorder. As an example, I have described a fractal that I might chose to show that concept. That step, of course, would be artistic and your goals would be best achieved by feeling for yourself which fractal would work best.
1. ORGANIC MENTAL ILLNESSES: (Alzheimer's, delirium, dementia, senility, etc.) A factual that is gray (brain tissue?), with sparks of light, like electrical pulses.
2. SUBSTANCE USE ILLNESSES: (Alcohol, Barbiturates, Sedatives, Opioids, Amphetamines, Meth, accidental poisoning, etc.) A fractal that is wildly psychedelic and yellow and optically boggling.
3. PSYCHOSIS: (Schizophrenia) A fractal that is surrealistic, does not compute, like the paintings of Heironomous Bosch.
4. MOOD DISORDERS: ( Depression, bipolar.) A fractal that makes me feel sad, hopeless, boring . . .like a prairie.
5. ANXIETY/SOMOTOFORM/DISSOCIATIVE DISORDERS: (Panic, general anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, phobias, imaginary pain/disorder( pseudo-pregnancy, as ex.), multiple personality, amnesia fugue, etc.) A fractal that has a compartmental look and out of kilter.
6. PERSONALITY DISORDERS: ( paranoid, schizoid, anti-social, passive-aggressive, narcissism) A fractal that shows violence, harm, hate, destruction, pain. Reds, blacks, crystal teardrops of light.

psychology is an unproven science, yet it is fun. Pictures of brain activity of humans that were convicted of a crime, and some that have not been convicted, MRI type scans are a good one.
Same scans, but people who never drank, and alcoholics, it shows what parts of the brain is active and what isn't.
That is psychology.

van gogh - i mean, if you're into getting A's on presentations and that sort of thing...
If you're feeling really arrogant, you may want to call your professor up to the front of the class and continue teaching, that should make a fine visual
