yes, I'd love to hear some practical suggestions myself. My fiancee snores so loud you can hear him through closed doors on the other side of the house. Even earplugs don't work for me anymore. It isn't really his fault though. He has sinus issues and a deviated septum, so when there are weather changes, etc. he snores a lot.
Here is what we have tried: taking a decongestant before bed, like sudafed. This helps him decongest and open his airways.
Getting exercise- Losing weight will help.
sleep on your side or stomach. Sleeping on your back will induce snoring.
Nasal strips...they are these plastic thingies you put on your nose and they open your airway. You can even get them with menthol. THey are a non-medicinal method.
Keeping allerges under control....keeping the house clean, taking antihistamines and decongestants....all of those methods will help reduce allergy problems.

I use to have the same problem, then I finally went to an ear, nose and throat specialist and he did an operation to reduce my turbinites (sp?), which are pockets in your nasal cavity and mine were quite enlarged, which is what was making me snore.
I also use Flonase - a prescription nasal spray that reduces any swelling in your nasal passages. Just a couple of sprays before bed really helps me breathe and sleep better.
Since that surgery and the addition of Flonase I don't snore at all.
Snoring is a physical problem - your wife's doctor can probably help.

Actually, you've got a pretty good one. Ear plugs should work fine. If that fails, see if she can sleep in different positions, like on her side. Sometimes that helps. If the snoring is serious, you can consult a doctor, although I doubt it is that bad.

She can try those breath right strips. They sell them over the counter at almost any pharmacy. I've also seen a spary that's supposed to help with snoring. If all else fails, talk to the doctor.

Husband says I snore at times too............He wanted me to get those things that go across the nose............I did and he says it is much better...........I don't tell him he snores because he is so restless. In fact when he snores, I think he hears it and he wakes up.............If he snores I am glad because that means he is finally sleeping some........I just put up with it....He never snores very long............I'm just thankful that his only complaint about me is that I snore!!!
