SO.....How Do You Know?

I read in the paper today, about the police busting a child pornography ring. Among those busted, were not only a Bible camp counselor (I believe that's what they called him), and a Boy scout leader. Do you think people are more suspicious of those that work in these types of positions now...just because of things like this starting to happen more frequently? I know when i've pictured molestors and pedophiles, I picture some rugged, dirty looking person that seems to have unsavory character. But in truth, the clean cut, upstanding people in the community are the ones commiting these types of offenses. Why? How do you know who to trust with your children now? You can't trust anyone, it seems.

This is a fine example of how wrong could we be when we are judgemental. By the looks, by the way they dress, by their skin color...... we, as humans seem to form an opinion of others. Wrongly I might add.

You said so yourself....."molestors and pedos....some rugged, dirty looking person...." Sad as it is, such people who are tigers hiding in their sheepskin are most venemous and highly toxic to our society.

We are wrong in taking people at their face value. How to combat this? We just have to better educate our children to be wary of such characters and be ever vigilant. This is the only way. It is the society we live in. These are the sad state of affairs.

By teaching our children this unpleasant thing we take their innocence away. Either that, or we will have a child that is scarred for life. A tough choice indeed.

I heard that story today as well. It was pretty sickening...bondage on 6 month olds...

Well, it seems that most child molesters are of this ilk. They kind of always have been. People SHOULD be suspicious of "upstanding" citizens in their communties that specifically deal with children (camp counselors, scout leaders, teachers, etc.).

Here is my theory. Child molestation is one of those weird perversions that people have becasue they are restless and already have it all. They usually have a wife and maybe even a mistress on the side--but somehow it just isn't enough. The women are lacking that special "zing". These people already have their reputations established in the community, so what the hell? They do this sort of hideous thing. I think THESE people (child molesters) should be the ones "disappearing" in Camp X-Ray-type torture prisons with no chance of parole!

I do vaguely do not forget it, I watched a couple of episodes of the exhibit. I suggestion it used to be relatively well, certainly one of Disney Channel's quality, bigger than That's So Raven. The exhibit did not actually have a 3rd season, it wrapped up for the duration of the moment season and so much Disney Channel indicates no less than make it to the 3rd season while they are reduce off. I'm sorry the exhibit did not make it to the factor it deserved. It used to be a well, fascinating exhibit, just a little spooky too. I bet Disney Channel did not wish to scare persons an excessive amount of. Cowards, do not take delivery of indicates except slapstick Raven and G scores.

You don't know, and that is the terrifying part.

It's just like "strangers". I never use(d) that word with my kids because they think "strangers" look like cartoon bad guys. You know, so oddly visible that they stand out in a crowd?

I personally go with my scouts on trips and such. I'd rather not leave my kids alone with anyone except my family.

yeah, sum of the loonies in the world are completly ruining the peaceful and safe enviorment that we want to raise our kids in. but the only thing we can do is hope for the best and keep an eye out.
