"One nation under God"...Nope.. It doesn't maker WHAT God or WHO'S God... We will always remain under the influence. Even if you were to take an Agnostic, Atheist that too in some regard is a form of "religion" per say. The belief in nothing is still a belief. And that is all that is needed to sanction a "religion" is belief and faith...And a little bit of money doesn't hurt either.

I sure hope so, and even more than that I hope that the tax exemptions go away, since I resent having to subsidize this B.S by paying more taxes, because they don't.
In Europe they have taxes which are collected for the churches, and anyone that doesn't like it can opt out by telling them that they are not religious. That way only people that are into that junk get charged. That's the way it should be here too.

I would say our governmnent is generally much more secular now than before 1945.

As soon as the bigotry of fundamentalists and their obsession with war is fully unclothed, religion will be disrepsected and people will insist it be kept apart from government.

"One nation under god." Nope, won't happen. The existence of religion is why we have a government and laws so of course it will influence it.
