We live in a high set house with no flooring underneith, just loose dirt. something has died down there, mabey a rat or a mouse. IT STINKS. We have looked everywhere but cant find it. how can we find it. would a friends dog go to the smell you think?

Give some highschool boy 20 bucks, a flashlight and a trashbag and send him in. Works everytime.

See if you can find a hunting dog type, if there's not enough room for a big dog find a rat terrier to help locate the odor.

It isn't unusual for a rat to get in the walls of a house and die. Or a squirrel in your attic? Good luck with your seek and dispose of mission.

HATE TO TELL YOU THIS HORROR STORY, BUT...MY MOM HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY COME FROM THE ROADS OR BUILDING UP NEARBY SEEKING SHELTER, WELL, THEY FINALLY FOUND THE STENCH WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE COUCH! IT HAD GOTTEN IN SOMEHOW AND JUST DIED THERE, SHE CALLED THE EXTERMINATOR AND HE FOUND A FRESH NEST JUST UNDER THE PORCH RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COUCH! EEWWWW, BUT HE MADE SURE NONE CAME BACK, IN OTHER WORDS, IT MAY BE CLOSER THAN YOU THINK!
