I recently caught a cold, and I blew my nose, then my right ear became plug. It has been plug all day today. Now I just noticed when I touch or move my ear, I hear crackling noises...like there's tissue paper in my ear. Is this just because of the eustachean tube? Just making sure it's not anything else.

Yes, sounds like you are congested and have buildup of stuff in your eustachean tube. The fact that it went from plugged to crackling is good news...it is starting to break up and clear out of there. You may hear clicking when you swallow for a little while.

As long as there is no pain and you don't develop a high fever (more suggestive of possible ear infection), I would say it will clear up in the next few days. If not, see your doctor. You can also take some Sudafed (pseudophedrine) with guaifenesin to help thin out that mucous and clear up that congestion. This stuff is over the counter, just look at the active ingredients of all the cold medications and pick the ones with the most of each of these two medications.

Hope you feel better soon.
