Back in the day when buying a new mattress wasn't an option we would put plywood between the mattress and box spring to make it firmer. Also, you can buy a topper for it and that will help for quite a while. If you can afford it I'd get a good mattress, the cheap ones always break down fast. You do get what you pay for in mattresses/ Also, you don't have to replace the box spring unless the springs are broken. Make sure that it's not the problem. Sleep and your back is worth a lot so do what you can. good luck.

My husband and I kept rolling to the middle on our old mattress so we did the plywood thing and it really does work. It is a short term fix until you can get another mattress but it fixes the problem very well. The mattress topper helps too.

You might try putting a piece of 3/4 inch plywood between the mattress and box spring, if you don't like that try a better brand of mattress next time.

Did you buy it new??? Make the person that sold it to you honor the manufacturers warranty! Most new mattresses have 10-20 year warranty against normal wear and tear but jeez... this is not nearly old enough to have that much breakdown. If you didn't get it new, there are lots of places out there that will take it apart and re-stuff it.

You could try putting a thin sheet of plywood under the matress.
If you do choose to buy a new bed, spend a little more then you did on the last one. A mattress should last longer than that.

what kind of mattress did you get to start with? I just bought a mattress and it has a 10 year warranty.
I would check on the warranty, and get another one.
