I just bought a usb pen, and it has a small switch on the side of it, I had it connected to my pc and tried the switch, but all it did was close and reopen the "temporary storage folder" that the usb pen opens when connected to a pc. any ideas what the switch does?

The switch is a write protect, just like we see for floppies, we can see the data but it does not allow to edit or copy or any thing. the switch is a protect switch from disturbing the data available in it.

two types

1) as you write something down it records all that you've written so that u dont lose what u wrote.

2) some usb pens just double as a normal usb flas drive for saving files on. (dosent record what u write).

go to the companies site and dont be afraid to e-mail saying whats this and that. also it shoulda came with a manuel.
my thought is that as soon as the switch is on, it records what u write or it could be a lock since most usbs have locks.
