I love them BOTH, but I my heart's with Freddy's! Mercury's is better both technically and imaginatively! He has exceptionally superior tone and feel for emotion better and he seems more adaptable to the topics of his songs.

May he R.I.P forever!

If you're asking who was the better singer then Freddie Mercury would take the prize. But if you're asking who I enjoy listening to more, then I'd have to say Bono - maybe he lacks Freddie's versatility, and his vocal range isn't as broad as Freddie's was, but Bono's voice has an edginess to it which I really enjoy. I sometimes found Freddie's style to be a bit uber-theatrical and melodramatic, which isn't really my thing...

Freddie Mercury without a shadow of a doubt, I like U2 but in terms of vocals I don't think anyone has rivalled Freddie's originality or absolutely unique sound, closest contender in modern day music in my humble opinion would be Matt Bellamy from Muse ... not Bono ....

freddie, absolutely... had a voice thats unparalled, and a stage presence beyond belief... that man walked and breathed music, and there has been no-one since freddie that even comes even remotely close worthy enough to even walk in his shadow... bono is too contrived and i always think u2 try too hard... freddie had soul, something bono has never had...

even now, every single song freddie sang on sounds as good today as it did back then...

Comparing Freddie and Bono is like comparing Caviar with a sh*t sandwich!

Viva Freddie forever!

I'm going to say Freddie, but only because I loath Bono with a passion I can't even begin to describe!

Mercury. How can you even compare the two? Freddy's projection, tone quality, range, power, diction, phrasing, breath control and just about everything else surpass Bono by light years. He may be a nice guy and fellow irishman and loved and adored by my ol' lady and all that, but he spends too much time making love to his harmonizer when he sings. He also sounds out of range when he reaches his upper voice-like he never learned to relax and just let it fly up into his head and out to the crowd. Please don't insult Freddy's ghost like that anymore dude.;)
