The humidity is usually higher in the summer but central AC should keep it at about 55% or lower. Any higher than that and you may get mildew problems. Depending on where you live it is usually lower in the winter because the furnace is running all the time. That is why you get the static electric shocks in the winter.

don't run the humidifier in the summer. for the winter a humdifer has a dial turn the dial to the outside average temp and your good

if you have one of those fancy t-stats, w/ humidity setting, set it high, or you a/c wil run, run, run trying to get to 40%, or whatever, you # may be!
