Why are so many of the questions basic things that can be found in the dictionary? Why are so many of the questions asking for other people to do the work? Some kids want genuine help, but others are just being lazy!

What I find amazing (and I do enjoy answering serious questions) are the number of questions that surely take longer to type than they would to actually solve.

In the "olden" days, I spent hours on the phone with my friends asking each other homework questions, going to the library and sharing answers- trying to word the encyclopedia differently so the teacher wouldn't guess where we got it from. Maybe lazy or maybe creative! Kids were doing it then, kids will do it now. There are even more kids reading and not answering who maybe are benefiting from someone else's question.Besides for those who do look up and answer- hey that's learning and they are learning how to collaborate. In my school, teachers don't do a lot of group activities yet in my son's high school they constantly need to work together to find answers.
I think this is great.
I do wish people would ask questions in the right category.

Yes, agreed. Some may be just being lazy. But some may be insecure & need reaffirmation to what they have already found on their own. Others may just want to be part of the group that uses the service,as a way of fitting in with their peers. So don't get discouraged & keep up the good work. You never know if your helping the next great man or woman of the world.

I know. Often it takes me just seconds to look it up. I choose to help those who ask more complicated, specific questions.

yes maybe some are lazy.this laziness is due to the fact that they are loaded with too much of donkey work
hundreds of problems of the same type, computer generated
look at their text books, having hundreds of chapters and each chapter having chapter exercises, end of chapter exercises,...........................................................
no wonder they become lazy because of the sheer monotony
