My last period was on Sept. 9th. I was expecting my period on the 14th and it never came. I took a HPT and it came out negative. I took another one two days later and still nothing. My period has not come and I know that if it doesnt come I should see a doctor. However, besides waiting a could more days to take another test are there any other solutions or suggestions? I am TTC, but I refuse to put pressure on my body. So I know stress isnt the issue. I have never missed a period before, so its strange for me to simply NOT have one... any ideas?

It's only about 4-5 days late so I'd wait til maybe Monday or Tuesday and take a test again... even though the new tests are all designed to work very early - you may have ovulated later then the "average" 14 days so you may need a few extra days...

good luck :).

From Sept 9 to Oct 14 is 36 days. That's a long cycle. You are now 6 days late. You should get an accurate hpt result by now. However, I suggest making an appointment with your OB though and have them do a blood test. If it is negative, there are medications, such as Prometrium (progesterone) that can bring your period on so you can start ttc. I took it once when I missed my period and then I also took Clomid to help me ovulate and I conceived that month. Good luck!

I haven't had a period since May, and I also want to conceive. Before then, I never, ever, missed a period. You could have set a watch to my cycles.

I've been to the doctor a number of times, and we've determined that it was due to weight loss, and the fact that I was considered underweight. (I lost about 40 pounds, and at the lowest, I was at 109). Now, I'm at 120, which is considered "normal."

Don't delay in getting to the doctor, as everything I've tried still hasn't corrected things. We tried putting on weight, and waiting...didn't work. We tried the progesterone challenge....didn't work. We tried PremPro......didn't work. Now, I'm on her last ditch effort, which is another course of PremPro (to be followed by Clomid, if I ever get a period, which I don't think I will).

So, now I'm going to a fertility specialist next month to see if we can get this corrected. Boy, though, I really wished that I got this ball rolling back in June, rather than following the doctor's "just wait and see" approach.

Stressing over TTC, whether you realize it or not, can cause your cycle to lengthn. Also, have you just recently come off birth control? That can mess up your cycle as well. Also, some people never get a positive urine test when they are actually pregnant. I would wait until you are around 10days late and then call your doctor's office and talk to the nurse and see what they think you should do.

Good Luck!!

periods may very in time. it could be a couple days off at some points. if you did not have sex in the past month (i think) then you are just fine. it happens to all of us.

well, not being a woman but having been around many, i'd say you are putting stress on yourself. test kits are (ALMOST) accurate. likelyhood of you being pregnant is very slim. could be hormonal changes in your body (depending on your age) or diet issues.
