when i try to open [e] [to see what is on my data [photo's], my computer, e, open, its blank, cd rom led light continuos blink as if trying to read [cd is not blank cause i put it on a friends and photo are there, i have compaq application recovery, which would i do for this problem and is this for this situation, any advice or help welcomed, choices for compaq is [1] application istallation;this reinstalls applications installed on it when i 1st got it or [2] drivers installation; this reinstalls the drivers to when i 1st got it?

If this happens to the same CD, or all CDs?
If Same CD, maybe the format is not matching. Or you have a weak lazer. Try cleaning the lens.
If all CDs... verify your system with another CD-Drive.

You probably have a broken laser. I'd replace the entire drrive though if I were you
