I have my permit and want to drive my fathers car. However in New York you need dual brakes on the car in addition to adult supervision. What will happen if I get pulled over and I don't have dual brakes (controls) on the car?

unless your brakes need repair they have "dual"brakes you have brakes on all 4 wheels on most cars the front brakes are disc & the read brakes are drum. beside also having a parking brake which is independet of the others your brake pedal controls the 4 wheels & there should be a handle forr the parking brake

Go back and check the rules, private cars don't have dual controls, those are specially made for driving schools.
