Why do transsexuals or transgenders say that they are not gay, at one time they were gay, right? And now that you guys have transitioned why would that make you not gay anymore....does it make you straight? This is a very serious question...please answer. I am a lesbian myself and would love to know the answer.

okay another part of this question that doesn't seem to be answered that I forgot to ask....what is this person (male/female) before transition was in a gay realtionship....and after the transition is still in the same realtionship does that cause there partner to become straight too.....I'm so confused.

most transsexuals people don't have sex at all or very really if they do
i being a male now am more bisexual
i have had a gay relationship
and a straight relationship
but i have only been with three people and i am 26
that is not that far out of the norm for transsexuals
i see what you are trying to say about if
i now had a relationship with a girl
that would make me gay after my operations
and yet if i had a gay relationship now that would make me straight after wards
and yes that is confusing
i am going to say this the best way i can most transgender people are only trying to fit into the norm and be truly there real gender
i have always seen my self as a girl trapped in side a boys body
but i had to see if i am a boy as every one says i am
society seems to think gender is either male or female that is it 2
i as a transgender feel i am some where in between
i feel if i could be excepted as the middle gender
i would be that middle gender
the only cure for what i have it to be what ever i feel
i feel like i love in relationships with females
and just have sex with males
so to me i am bisexual without much practice
i feel i just have not found what i am looking for
i feel i am a non practicing trans-lesbian
so as yet i am not gay

I would say that when you mention transgender, you are including a few different lifestyles in there, Myself, I am a Crossdresser, that is also considered in the Transgendered community,, well I LOVE Women, just because I wear womens attire, That does not mean I am gay, I identify with myself as a male, If I was into men only that would be gay, if both, Bi-,, so now, I say NO,, Not all Transgendered people are or were gay, http://www.tri-ess.org/cd01.html I would suggest if anyone is curious to click the link and read "Do you Know a Crossdresser"

Ok. It's a good question. Basically, if someone was born female, but has always identified as male, and is attracted to women (bear with me)... they are straight. Because a man who is attracted to women is straight, and they're a man, even though the rest of the world thought they were a woman before they transitioned.
Similarly, someone who was born male but has always identfied as female and is attracted to women would be a lesbian. Because even though the rest of us maybe didn't KNOW that they were female before they transitioned, they still were on the inside- and since they are a woman who likes women, they're lesbian!
Whew. Isn't this stuff fascinatingly complicated?! But yeah. There are obviously other combinations, but I hope that gives you an idea. Contact me if that wasn't clear enough or if you have any more questions- my minor was in Gender and Sexuality, and I love all this. jenjubatus@yahoo.com

I'm not TS but I'd like to put in 2 cents.
Sexuality is defined by many things:
1) Self definition
2) What you actually do
3) What you would like to be doing
and maybe more.
If a TS considers themselves to BE their new gender and hence straight, why not?

though I am not transsexual, it is their defination of thier behaviour, which is not objectively been defined. In the sense, human nature cannot judged objectively that they are fluid and ambigious.

I think it's because they don't see themselves as gay men but instead women.
I'm not a transexual btw.

the whole idea of being born gay or not needs to be tossed out as the so-called proof study was a farce........and conducted in san francisco no less...THERE IS NO GENETIC LINK, i challenge any gay to provide proof of a genetic link
