I think it is about respect and I admit that it is out of hand. I know I do not respect the repuglican party. I do not like their far right opinions on things. I would never vote for a party that is sending my money over seas while people in this country are hurting. I want a responsive government like we had with Bill Clinton. I want some fiscal responsibility, I want born baby's to get more attention then the unborn. I am going to do a ect. here because you know what I mean. ECT.

Until the illegal recounts in 2000 the democrats and republicans had a history of working out differences, now it is almost like who ever loses the election divides the country so that those who won the election look bad and lose the next one. That is what is currently happening, the losing party in the 2004 election cycle has degenerated into a power hungry, do anything to regain power party that unity is against their cause.

Seems impossible? I don't know what government you're looking at it, but it sure the hell isn't ours. The Dems and Reps have been in total agreement for the last 50 years or so-get as much money as they can while doing the least they possibly can and then paying lip service to their constituents and demonizing the opposition.
It's only an elaborate ruse that they are separate parties.
And to the guy above with the "unborn souls" thing-did you know that the legalization of abortion dropped crime rates and that abortion is just as physically harmful to a woman as a vaginal delivery?
Morals should have no say in law-because morality is not a universal concept, it's faith-based(religion being another thing that should not have anything to do with law).

It's happening in California right now - the Governator is running on the Dem initiatives he promoted & signed. California usually leads the nation...let's hope in this too. There are some huge problems that are not being addressed as the parties continue their self-interested jib-jab & the country is left by the side of the road.

there is a social war going on in case you havent noticed. there are points of disagreements that cant be solved by a compromise. the republicans suck as far as im concerned, but they're closer to taking the right moral stands then the dems have been in decades.
lincoln said the civil war was god's punishment to america for slavery; heaven help us when he comes to collect for the destroying 60million unborn souls

Well, our problem in IL is that nobody likes either candidate. I don't like the Democrat gov. we've got now, and the lady running against him looks like crap too. If I don't vote, I'm not helping anything, but I don't like either candidate. What's a gal to do?

Yep It sure would. then maybe just maybe something constructive might get done in Washington!
I tired of always having to vote for the lesser of two evils to. Another novel Idea would be a really good politician that wanted the best for the US, not themselves.

They did have a lot in common after 9/11. But lets face it they make a good amount of press telling you how bad the other party is. Thats how they make their living.

That would mean a compromise and both sides feel so strongly that that would never be acceptable. Maybe after a few race wars one side will be on top... I pray.
