if not does anyone know a place that would let you borrow a car for such a thing, since the dmv does not provide the car?

No because the car being used must have insurance

I did mine in their car. Company was called Work Essentials and was based in Tennessee. The car was a Sunfire and basically it involved 8 hours of driving time spaced out in 4 sessions and 8 hours of class spaced out in four sessions. Check around, companies like this one are abundant and can be a big insurance break.

They have to normally use they own car for practicing because the compony can't be responsable for car difficulties or the drivers life

Well, it depends on what state u live in. I live in MD, so we have to borrow someone else's car to take the test in.

In Colorado they (the driving school) will give you the test in their car.

In some cases the schools do best thing to do is to check in your area
