YES! It use to be a folklore legend/myth that a woman couldn't get pregnant while on their period. The reason being is a lot of woman preferred not having sex while on their cycle. A woman can most certainly get pregnant just as much as they can when they aren't on their period.

Women get pregnant within 48 hours of ovulation, because the egg is only good for 48 hours. Since sperm can live for several days, sex a few days before ovulation can result in a pregnancy. You really only have about 7 days a month when sex would result in a pregnancy. Women typically ovulate about 14 days before their period comes. If you have a short cycle, sex while menstruating can result in a pregnancy, but for most it would not.

Just to clear up a PP - your period is shedding the lining that would be nourishing the fertilised egg if you had conceived. The egg itself only lasts 12-24 hours and dissolves after that time frame if not fertilised. It is not flushed out with your lining.
Yes you can get pregnant during AF if you have a short cycle. It is also possible to fall pregnant while having unprotected sex the day after you period. I agree with the PP's, use protection if you don't want to fall pregnant. If you have a normal 28 day cycle, however, it is not as likely that you would be able to fall during your period.

Women can get pregnant within about 48 hours of ovulation. This typically happens at the midpoint of one's mentrual cycle (approx. 2 weeks after the start of her period), but there is a lot of variance here. Women all have their own body clocks, and some will ovulate sooner or later than this 2 week mark. I would not think it typical, but yes, it is possible for women to get pregnant while they are still mentruating.

All women't bodies are different but its unlikely. I have heard of a few times it happened but never to me. Your menstural period is your body's way of flushing out an UNFERTILIZED egg, so periods are not usually a good time. The best time to get pregnant is to start from the 3rd day you got off your period. That puts you on day 10 and most women ovulate on day 14. It's very important you DO NOT HAVE SEX EVERY DAY. Male sperm need time to replenish themselves and every other day is better. Good luck!

it is very unlikely due to the flow of blood oneway and the sperm the other. there is never one specific period of time where you can or cant get period. It is even p[ossible to get pregnant without having intercourse, so my best advice to you is if u dont want to hav a child then where a condom and use other forms of birth control. Good Luck!!!
