I'm probably going to hate this, but....I am a Democrat and just a political affiliation doesn't determine if a person is nice or not. Personally, I happen to be, but that's my opinion. As to what would I say to President Bush? How much time do you have? For the record, I did vote for him because the Democratic party was lacking, obviously. Anyway, I won't say he's been one of the best. JFK was, again, my opinion.
My primary concern that I'd discuss with President Bush is why must our troops remain in Iraq when it's obvious we are not wanted over there? The latest I have heard is that our troops will stay over there until the year 2010! Why? What happens, God forbid, if America gets attacked again? Where will our troops be? Trying to make a Democratic nation. Our government, as a whole, needs to realize that our ways/beliefs cannot control the world. There are people of power now installed in the Iraqi government that can foresee the rebuilding of their country. Get our troops home, where they belong.
I've heard alot of what's happening is because of the upcoming elections. I would hope not, but there is such back-stabbing and lying that occurs every election that it is hard to say. This is true of all parties. One promises lower taxes, another promises something else. Who do we, as Americans, believe?
The gas prices this year were unbelieveably astronomical! All of a sudden, they start to drop? Hey, I'm not complaining. I prefer to spend $30 to fill my van than $60 any day. But, is this truly a result of the upcoming elections? What happens afterwards? Will the prices skyrocket again?
Ok, I've said my peace. I'll step down off my soapbox now. =)

Q. Don't you actually have to DO something to be a good president ?
The Republicans control ALL 3 branches of government. So what we are seeing now is the BEST they can ever do. What have they achieved aside from losing 2 wars at the same time, and reducing the tax turden for the top tax bracket to it's lowest level in 50 years ?
You might cite "no child left behind" and I might say that was a good thing - if only they'd provided funding to carry out the policy.
Every domestic policy has failed, every foreign policy has failed, the Republican party is riddled with scandal, the country is as polarised as it has ever been in recent years. There is NOTHING productive to come from any Republican over the last decade.
NOTE: don't waste your time bashing Democrats - I ain't one. I'm a radical moderate independe voter - I use my brain to decide who to vote for, I don't let others tell me.
Since WW2, I would have voted for more Republican presidents, than Democrat - but this idiot-in-chief ain't one of them - IKE RULES !

I would ask him some questions.
1. Would you still be for the war in Iraq if Barbara and Jenna wanted to join the military and would be sent to Iraq?
2. How do feel knowing that several million people have lost their jobs due to outsourcing?
3. Why would you start a war if you didn't have the approval from Congress?
4. How can you say Mission Accomplished when the mission was not accomplished?

I would say "good to meet you Mr. President," because you should have respect for the office even if you do not like the man.

Thank you for staying the course regardless of the abuse and slander directed at you. You have made some mistakes and you may make more but I, for one, think that we are doing about the only thing that has a legitimate chance of overcoming the terrorist threats.

Why would I be nice? After all this is the President who chose a canidate, Daniel Pipes, to head the US Institute for Peace who wrote a article calling for all Muslim Americans to be put into concentration camps until the war on terror is over.
What I would say to him is "It is a shame you were ever born. This country wouldn't be a country in fear of unknown targets that you sometimes tell the truth of and sometimes lie about if it wasn't for you. Either way you use the fear to make yourself popular."

I would ask him if the God he worships approves of his lying to the American people, spying on the American people, of getting ready to start another war with Iraq in order to influence the outcome of upcoming elections, of telling the victims of Katrina that they would get aid and support, and then not doing it, in violating the rules of the Geneva Convention by torturing prisoners . . . . . . .for openers.
And now I ask you, do you consider the above to be good work, or maybe in the event he has done something I might have missed, would you do the honors of enlightening me as to what he has done that could be considered good work?
Just one example, is all I ask.

Habeas Corpus, R.I.P. (1215 - 2006)
With a smug stroke of his pen, President Bush is set to wipe out a safeguard against illegal imprisonment that has endured as a cornerstone of legal justice since the Magna Carta.
President Bush is fighting the same terrorist his father fought, Clinton and Regan fought.
Why does it cost more lives, more money and more of our freedoms to get the job done?!

am a registered republican and regular voter and I would ask him why the majority of his policy has and continues to be against what the 'majority' of the average Joe wants.
