Not aggressively pursuing Canada and Baja Mexico as soveriegn entities within the US during the 19th Century period of expansionism. With those countries under our borders we could have controlled poverty, crime and drug problems from South America while managing some of the largest petrochemical assets in the world. The Middle East would have remained the giant cat litter box it should be right now and OPEC would stand for Our Petroleum Economy Crybabies.
