I want to start a porn sight featuring myself and some boyfriends and girlfriends, but I live in utah. Would I be violating any state laws? Would I have to set up a business entity? How would I start this sort of thing?

State laws can not govern what you do within your own home. If you intend to aquire a business license, then you may have a problem. You can go to your local library and find a book of state codes and regulations. To my understanding, you do not need to set up a business entity. I operate several such sites (not in Utah) and while laws governing them will vary from state to state, as long as you pay income tax on what you make from the site. You should be OK.
As for starting the site. Go to http://www.register.com and get a domain name. Go to http://www.actionhosts.com and get hosting. Make sure you buy more hosting than you think you will need, nothing worse than cutting it close and going over bandwidth. If you intend to build the site yourself, you will need a working knowledge of HTML. It sounds like you are shooting for an amateur site, so that should get you going. if your all over 18 i think so. But you would need to set up a business model to collect payments, attract customers, buy equipment etc etc.
