When a natural miscarriage takes place it can be a result of a number of factors and not necessarily an infection. The most frequent cause of this kind of miscarriage is because the fetus has died or has a condition incompatible with life. OBGYN Physicians frequently perform a Dilatation and Curettage of the uterus to make sure that no fetal cells of the miscarried pregnancy remain and the outer layer of the endometrium is removed to give the patient the best opportunity for a healthy future pregnancy. This Medical Protocol has nothing to do with abortion in this type of situation and is the Standard of Medical Care .Good luck to you.
