Maybe it is time to replace that mouse. They do wear out.

it could be a dirty mouse in the part where it feels the click. Try cleaning it. Also, it could be that you have the click sensitivity set way too high. Change that and see if it helps. if alse else fails, get a new one. Parts break, you gotta live with that fact.

This is most likely caused by a defective mouse (button or cable). Replacing it would be the simplest test.
