Can I convert Sims 2 Files from one game to another?

I have the sims 2 holiday ep and the original sims 2 which is already installed. I don't want to uninstall it to put the holiday material in...is there any way to copy or cut and paste the holiday objects onto the original sims 2 game?

You can just install holiday right on top of the basic Sims 2. Holiday makes changes due to the Baby New Year and Santa Clause activitities.

Normally, you install objects in My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Download directory...

But the Holiday Party Pack, makes changes to the executable. This will NOT prevent you from playing your existing Neighborhoods.
