the eyes are getting really big as if they were popping out. What is this caused by and how can i fix it. Is it contagious?

It's called popeye, and it's a bacterial infection usually occurring with poor water quality. Do a big water change (40%) and treat with Melafix. Hopefully your fish will survive.

Mollies also tend to like slightly salty water, not quite brackish, but without salt they tend to be more susceptible to diseases.

Yuck.. i've never had that happen to my fish.
Isolate any sick fish.. And Change 50% of the water immediately. And throw in some aquarium salt. 1 tspn/ gallon of water. Maybe a little more in a disease crisis.

In addition to what Carson said, be sure to do weekly water changes, after you finish your med dose, to avoid these kinds of problems/diseases. If people would just that every week, as much of a hassle as it is, it would save them so much time and money in the long run, from sick/dead fish.

It's a disease of aquarium fish. I have never had a tropical fish survive it, I'm sorry to say.

sounds like [pop eye i recomend melafix by aquriun pharmacuticals it works good...it has directions on the bottle and i do belive it is contagus...GOOD LUCK if you have a sick tank use it
