A service is a type of business. I believe you are asking what is the difference between a product and a service. The answer is a product is a tangible thing being sold and a service is an intangible thing being sold. Good Luck!!!

A service type business generates its revenue from providing its customer with a service. A type business in the service industry would be an accounting/auditing firm. An accounting firm is in the service industry because it does not produce or sell tangible products to generate revenue, instead it provides its customer with a service.
A manufacturing plant generates its revenue by producing and selling tangible goods in the marketplace.
