FULL candy bars...I live in a decent neighborhood but all the rage is the "richer" neighborhood" who gives out full candy bars....you can go to walmart and buy them for like 35 cents a peice and all in all its so much cheaper..because you give one rather than a handfull of the cheap bags that cost like 6 bucks a pop.

The last couple of years I've noticed that people seem to be buying less of the actual candy bars and more of those "mixes", you know the big bags of little non-chocolate candies, things like jawbreakers, smarties, and sweet tarts, etc. I suppose because they're more pieces for less money, which I totally understand. But I try to think of it from my kids point of view, and what they seem to enjoy getting the most is the chocolate, things like peanut butter cups, kit kats, Hershey bars, 3 musketeers, and so on (that's what always get eaten first, and the other stuff lingers on and on......) Now having said that, what did I but for trick-or-treaters this year? Ha ha ha!! I bought itsy-bitsy snack bags of teddy grahams, Oreos, and Cheetos just because it's a little different from the candy most other places will give.

Only full sized candy bars seem to impress the kids in our neighborhood these days! And, if you shop at Costco the cost for one or two boxes isn't far off from what you would pay for all of those different bags of mini candy bars. Either way, my kids tell me that only chocolate bars and sour candies are wanted when they trick-or-treat with their friends.

well, I know that all the smart kids who know what 100 Grand bars are go absolutely nuts for them... like me. We need to get more 100 Grand bars out there. I know that if more people gave 10 Grands, I;d be much more happy. If they are to costly, which i suspect they are becasue if they weren't there's no good reason why they aren't as famous as Snickers and Milky Ways, then Dots. Those are the top 2 candy's not enough people hand out.

I'm always torn. Years ago we made hot popcorn and gave that out and the kids lined up at the door. But this is a different world. I give out name brand candy because that's what I would like someone to give my kids.

I don't give out anything any more, there hasn't been kids at my door in years.
