depending on what ur going for the best tree is a fake one... you pay for it once and then setup is so easy with the newer the models....with real trees u have to be concerned with the correct lights, water, the dry needles that fall from the tree, having to throw it out, etc....that's to much
i have one that is only 3 pieces; two halves of the tree and the base........... the tree already comes with lights... all u have to do is plug it in and do any extra decorations........
all together it came to the amount of about $20 plus some tax
so fake ones are better longer lasting and reduces some of the stress of the time so ur able to spend time with other and not worry bout the tree

I've never had a real tree to celebrate Christmas in my life.
All I can say is, if you want to save money and not deal with a dying tree, go ahead for the fake one. I don't know about all fake trees, but mine had a scent... not a bad one, either.
If you want to get a real tree, make sure not to cut it down illegally... Wouldn't that be a bummer.

An artificial one, always. We need the trees to stay in the woods.
Why cut down millions of baby trees and then throw them out after a few weeks? It's such a waste.
Besides, the smell of real Christmas trees makes me feel sick.

It all depends on what you want.
A fake tree will last for years as long as you take care of it and it will be well shaped, no problem.
Getting a real tree can be an outing with friends and family. It smells good but drops needles on your floor.( a fake tree doesn't)
You have to dispose of a real tree.
I've had both and think a real tree is worth it.

A real tree is nice, but for me, an artificial tree works best for my situation. It has been in the family for over 30 years and its still in very good condition.

Although I love the smell of a real tree, I can't have one because I am allergic to them so we have a 7 foot fake one that almost looks real. I burn alot of pine candles so that it still smells like pine in here.

Why not buy a potted tree and then plant it after the holiday?
