If the baby is vomiting and not just 'spitting up', I'd head to the pediatrician immediately. It could certainly be acid reflux. In the meantime, keep the baby in an upright position for 30-45 minutes after each feed. (Most people use the car seat for this). Acid reflux is at its most painful right after eating. You could also elevate the mattress in his/her crib/bassinet by rolling up a towel (or a few towels if baby sleeps in crib) and placing it under the mattress. Burp the baby frequently, as others have suggested. The pediatrician may prescribe Zantac (which will ease the pain) and Reglan (which will actually help the reflux). GOOD LUCK! I hope your baby is better soon.

Is the baby vomiting or spitting up? My girlfriend's 4 mo. old spits up all day long, and she is taking him to the doctor tomorrow...it can sometimes be due to acid reflux, or jiggling them too much after a feeding. Burping your baby after each feeding is a good suggestion. If you are exclusively breastfeeding, this is not because the baby is lactose intolerant as someone suggested, because there is no lactose in breastmilk.I would definitely ask the pediatrician about it, as its important to ensure there are no gastrointestinal problems, and you want to make sure he/she is gaining the proper amount of weight.Good luck!

Maybe the baby is allergic to something you eat. Maybe dairy? Does the baby always vomit after every feeding or is it just spit up? First I would try keeping a diary of what you eat and eliminate dairy first to see if that makes a difference.

yes my daughter was breast feed untill she was 8 months old and she had such bad reflex we had to prop her for sleeping in fear she would choke as she didnt turn her head and we usually had to change her clothes after most feedings and after awhile she wore crib pads cut into long pieces placed around her kneck to keep her from soaking everything. shes now 14 months old and never had a problem since i put her on formula and now cows milk. some times she will burp and some comes up. it will subside. also may be acid reflux or gurd, talk with your doc it might just be some thing as minor as the cup of coffee yu drink in the morning or some thing else you eat or drink regularly.

yes its normal. my daughter used to vomit almost every time after eating. sometimes it seemed like she puked up everything she just ate. the doctor said that some babies do that and its normal they will grow out of it. it could also be that the baby is eating too much, or maybe needs to be burped more often while feeding. most likely its nothing to worry about unless the baby seems uncomfortable or extra fussy

Sometimes baby will spit up and sometimes its quite a bit if something mom eats does not agree with his/her stomach just make sure you remember that what your eating still effects your baby even though you are no longer pregnant.. I work for a daycar and one of the moms was eating a lot of take out and didnt even realize that she was doing it. Also your baby could be eating to much give him/her a break....Hope this helps...Good luck

This is quite common with babies. 70% of newborns are born with sphinters that do not close completely causing them to spit up. This should rectify itself at around 6 months of age. Just make sure to burp your baby after each breast. It will also help to keep your baby upright for a half hour after eating. To be sure it's not something more serious, you should mention it to your doctor at your next visit.

its called spitting up. that is when a baby has gas in its stomach and tries to burp but instead spits up some formula. after you are done feeding her put her over your shoulder and pat her on the back until she burps. she may need to burp several times so keep patting her until you think she is done. she may spit up while your doing this too but it will help her get rid of the gas in her stomach.

i guess it's natural.. every baby does. so not to worry,
baby's when they're 1month they dont drink much so as they get older they're feeding level gets change too. for example first month they can take 2-3oz.. but next month 3-4oz... then 3rd month it will be exact 4 and sometimes if baby is more hungry then 4-5oz..
so don't worry ihave one 3 and 3months old, from my experience yes it is normal if they spit up.
