There is no legitimate reason to have the most sensitive part of your babies body amputated. The circumcision rate in this country is dropping rapidly because it is really not needed.
These mysterious "infections" that everyone is so up in arms about are easily treatable with antibiotics!
Just think, what part of a girl's vulva gets removed when she has a Urinary Tract Infection?
A baby's foreskin is fused to the head, much like a fingernail is fused to the nailbed. This helps keep out foreign matter until the boy is able to pull it back himself. Fingernails get infected all the time, but removing them would be torturous wouldn't it? If someone constantly yanks the foreskin back before it is ready there can be tears that can get infected.
**Proper care of the infant foreskin is super simple. Just wipe it like a finger and be done. No need to have a bloody wound sitting in poop!**
My mom circumcised my first brother, but not the last 2. She learned her lesson! The twins are now 13 y.o. and have NO PROBLEMS. They are burly lacrosse players and they told me that the "locker room" argument is a load of crap.
Even though my DH is cut, we did not circumcise my son because it is not our body to cosmetically alter. It is his. I also didn't give my daughter breast inplants so that she would "look like me."
The girls of this generation are going to be a lot more used to the natural penis, so they won't necessarily have the opinion that a hard keritinized glans "looks better" than waht is supposed to be there.
If you really want to see what the procedure looks like watch this video

It is one method, but they are all cruel and completely unecessary.
The legitimate reasons for circumcision are: advanced cancer, frostbite or gangrene. Anything else is a from a doctor that was never taught anything about the natural penis, except how to cut it up.

Phimosis, which is a condition IN AN ADULT wherein the foreskin cannot be retracted is best cured by stretching excercises and steroid ointment, not surgery.
Jewish circumcisions are generally performed on the 8th day after birth.
And lastly, even if you know someone who had to have their penis cut up as an adult, why does that make it necessary to cut up your baby? One of my grandmothers had her entire arm removed because of cancer. My great grandmother had her cervix removed because of cancer. I have had chronic UTIs all my childhood. I did not have my daughter's arm or cervix, or labia cut off even though there is a genetic predisposition towards these illnesses in our family.
A child deserves to keep all his body parts, until a time when he has made use of them and can CHOOSE to cut pieces off!

I did not circumcise my son and I won't circumcise any future children. It is barbaric, even if people on here say it's not.
A child may not remember the pain, but that doesn't mean it's right. There's no medical reason to routinely circumcise baby boys. I work in a hospital and I've seen it done.
You can see a video of a baby getting circumcised here:
http://intact.ca/vidphil.htm
And for people who say their child didn't cry during a circumcision apparently didn't know it's because their child went into shock. Yes, that does happen.
An uncircumcised penis isn't at any greater risk of any cancer or anything else like some of this dimwits would have you believe. They are just grossly misinformed.
I'd advise you to really research everything before you decide to get yourself or your child circumcised.
As far as looks go, it's disgusting if a parent gets a child circumcised because they think it looks sexier. Who cares what a PARENT thinks of their CHILD'S penis??? They not supposed to be thinking of their child sexually and it just might be that the child will grow up to like the look of an uncircumcised penis better than a circumcised one. Let the kid decide for himself.

Although the woman can't feel the difference during sex, many men say that uncircumcised penis' are more sensitive - however, how would they know!
Personally I prefer circumcised and had my son circumcised at birth. Have you ever smelled the stench that comes from a man when they pull back the skin - even if they clean themselves regularly! I have known numerous men with uncircumcised penises that have gotten infections, pimples and assortment of other stuff that is common in an area of the body that constantly remains moist and warm. To claim otherwise is foolish!

I am going to skip the first few questions.
I have two sons, and both are circumcised. One was 14 months old when it was done (he had a blood condition at birth that prevented it), the second was done at a few weeks old (again, blood condition). I would definately recommend having it done when they are little and don't have any idea of what is going on. Also, it is much easier to clean and heals much more quickly. My Dr did numb the area, so it wasn't "barbaric" or torture.
As for the oldest one, he was put under general anesthesia and came through like a champ. He had no problems.
Also, in speaking with the urologist, he does circumcisions on all ages. He said alot of the people he does them on is teenage to early 20s boys whose parents didn't have it done earlier.

definately not. If he was not meant to have one then the world of men would not be born with it, 80% is not cut and majority of ones who are is because of religious stature.
The problems taht are often used to promote circumcision are blown way out of porportion. Complications that can occur are very rare and when they do can easily be treated with antibiotics. Many people in the US have it done as it is thought to be cleaner are prevent problems, yet many of these people never question what the purpose of it is for. It is done as a baby and since it has been so common for such a long time, many in the US don't know how to care for a normal penis thus creating the majority of the problems that arise from the rare problems.
Do you have any skin on your body that you cannot feel? What makes you think that males cannot feel a part of their penis? The skin that is removed is sexually errogoneous tissue.
Body amputations of any kind are rare and illegal unless required medically, last resort, yet the healthy genitals of a boy can be cut without any consent from the one to whom the body belongs. Bottom line is respect him, his penis requires no special care or cleaning then the rest of his body.

Who the heck cares what it feels like to the woman? Circumcision is a barbaric, painful practice that I would never ever inflict on a boy. By the way, many men in my life have been uncicumcised and they have more feeling/sensitivity than men who have been cut. There is no good reason to circumcise. Do you know they circumcise girls in some cultures? Takes away feelings of pleasure for them. Does THAT make sense?

I did my oldest son, and when I learned of the brutality it involves, I skipped the second boy.
They strap the baby to a table, pull the skin down like they peel a banana, and cut. NO sedatives, no anesthesia, only a glob of vaseline and gauze after the mutilation. The babies don't want to nurse afterwards. Some say they can't feel pain at that age... BS!
The uncircumsized boy has NEVER had a penile infection. It is a very illiterate practice among only Americans, and Jewish. No other cultures in the world do that
Not worth it. Boy aren't born with anything you have to cut off

Yes without detail to the first set of questions. No I did not circumcise my son, its sad when peoples only answer to doing this is "it looks better" would you remove your daughters labia because "it looks better"? Removing it might help the daughters not get yeast infections or UTI later and technically it is cleaner doing so and better yet so it up so it "feels better" to their future partner. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS THOUGHT PROCESS WHICH MANY CONDONE FEMALE MUTILATION BUT ACCEPT MALE, please full consider not circumcising, do you research, and do what you feel is in your heart right.

Circumcise your baby. It is a lot cleaner that way. If it's done while they are newborn - they really don't remember it and it's not all that barbaric, either. You can't believe everything you hear on this site.
Jewish people circumcise their young on the eight day after the birth - but my son was younger.
God bless,
mas
